I was going to write about Celebrations, or not. I just got the news today that one of my biggest supporters for Sedona Pies, passed away on June 30, 2019. Eitan Fenson.
There will be a celebration of his life in the future. He was a very nice, well liked guy. I met him through the Transitions Cafe – where a group of us used to meet for coffee each Friday evening. Then I started going to their monthly meetings.
Barbara Weinstein wrote me today..to let me know about Eitan.
Eitan Fenson passed away yesterday afternoon from complications of thyroid cancer. Since he was diagnosed more than 8 years ago, he lived a full and active life, giving of himself to his family, friends, and community and working tirelessly on behalf of justice, equity, and democracy. He faced many challenges over the past six months as his health declined, but that time also brought us closer together as a family. He never stopped saying how blessed he was. He passed away peacefully with Barbara and their children Zoe, Dana, and Derek with him as he passed.
We had many discussions about Christmas, since he was Jewish we would discuss the traditions and what we or our families would do. Eat pie. Laugh. Talk about the projects he was working on.
In spirit I know he is still with us. It’s sad just the same.
Condolences to Barbara and their family.
For the upcoming weekend
