Climate Change for Wine, has and will affect the variety of wines that are made, all over the world.

Traditional wine regions are facing new challenges, while new regions are emerging as viable wine producers. As temperatures rise, areas that were once too cold for wine production are becoming suitable for vineyards. For instance, regions in Northern Europe, such as England, are now producing high-quality sparkling wines. This shift in geography is creating new opportunities for wine producers but also increasing competition in the global market. Berry flavor depends on sugar, acid, and aromatic compounds, Marvin Pritts, Professor at Cornell University, tells Food Tank. “If any one of these is out of balance, then the fruit won’t taste as good.” Highly weather-sensitive, sugar levels dilute in rain and intensify in sunlight, Pritts explains.
