Chocolate Silk Pie

This chocolate silk pie was the runner up. Thus, it seems as though it’s actually not french at all, it’s exactly I would classify as an American pie.

Chocolate Silk pie, This is a simple chocolate silk pie recipe, The history of the French Silk Pie was created in 1951 by Betty Cooper, when she made the pie for the Pillsbury Bake Off.


An Easy CHOCOLATE SILK PIE

1 unbaked single pie crust
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
pinch of salt
1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
3 eggs
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1 tsp vanilla

Bake 30 minutes or until filling has puffed, but center still wiggles. Cool completely. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.

Second Chocolate Silk pie

8″ baked pie shell
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
Heavy cream, whipped
Walnuts or chocolate shavings Cream butter. Gradually add sugar in mixer. Blend in melted chocolate when it is fairly cool. Add vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating 5 minutes at medium speed after each egg. Turn into cooled, baked pie shell. Chill at least 2 hours before serving. Cover with whipped cream and either chopped walnuts or chopped shavings before serving. Share it
